Punctal Occlusion

Aqeuous deficiency is one type of dry eye that is secondary to the body not producing enough tears. Treating this type of dry eye can be challenging, however, there are solutions. One of those solutions is known as punctal occlusion. Instilling punctal plugs into your puncta can help reduce outflow of the tears, leading to more tears on the ocular surface. Inserting punctal plugs is an in office procedure that is well tolerated and helps aid the treatment of dry eye.
