What Is Voyager™ DSLT?

Voyager™ DSLT, or Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive laser procedure that helps reduce eye pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Unlike conventional laser treatments, DSLT does not require the doctor to make direct contact with your eye or use special lenses. Instead, the laser energy is delivered through the outer edge of the eye (the limbus), targeting the drainage tissue to improve fluid outflow and lower pressure.

The Treatment Experience

Before your Voyager™ DSLT treatment, your eye doctor in Winston-Salem will perform a comprehensive eye exam to assess your eye health, confirm your candidacy, and determine the appropriate laser settings. During the procedure, you’ll be seated comfortably at the laser device. There’s no need for numbing injections or complicated preparation.

The laser portion of the treatment takes only a few seconds - approximately 2.4 seconds per eye - and most patients report little to no discomfort. Because the treatment is non-contact, there’s no pressure or touch on the surface of your eye, making the experience quick and stress-free.

After the Procedure
